Congratulations Cambriel Thomas!
Congratulations go to AMHS 10th grader Cambriel Thomas!  She spent spring break 2016 in Greece, participating in the EF Educational Tours 2016 Project weShare. Out of hundreds of submissions from the US and Canada, Cambriel’ s project was one of the top 4 winners. Cambriel also won in the Social Studies category with her project, "Resting on Your Laurels." Please congratulate Cambriel when you see her.

Dr. Okoh Named Region IV TOTY!
Congratulations to Dr. Fred Okoh for being named the DeKalb County School District Region IV Teacher of the Year. Dr. Okoh, who is the AMHS Science Department Head and teaches chemistry, is one of five regional finalists being considered for the District Teacher of the Year honor. Thanks for all you do Dr. Okoh!  
Congrats AMHS TSA
Congratulations to our Arabia Mountain High School TSA (Technology Student Association) officers for having a successful Chapter Officer Retreat for Excellence weekend in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains in Rabun County, GA. They competed against , networked with , and participated in leadership training activities with over 600 student leaders from all over Georgia. As a result of their hard work and efforts, they won the 100% Chapter Award, The Spirit of C.O.R.E award, and three Statesman's Awards. They also made the final top 12 in the state for two Promotional Designs and their Membership Recruitment Poster Design. The finals will be judged at Tech Day at the Georgia National Fair October 10th, 2016 in Perry, Georgia.  
AMHS Student Named FFA National Delegate!
Congratulations to our own 4th year Arabia Mountain Future Farmer of America member and currently FFA president, Irene Igbere. She was selected to serve as a delegate for the National FFA convention October 18-22, 2016 in Indianapolis, Indiana. As a delegate, she will propose amendments to the National FFA constitution, recommend future National FFA activities, and elect National FFA officers.  
AMHS Achieves 95.5 CCRPI Score!
Arabia Mountain High School saw a significant increase in its College & Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) for 2015.  AMHS earned a score of 95.5 for 2015!  This reflects an increase from 83.1 during the previous year.  Many other DeKalb County School District schools also achieved significant increases.  Click Here to download the DCSD News Release for further details.

After School Loitering Policy
All students who are not participating in school-sponsored activities must vacate the building and leave the premises no later than 4:00pm daily. District 5 School Board Representative

Vickie B. Turner is an educator with over 24 years of experience and is a 20+ year DeKalb County resident. She is co-pastor of Augustine Chapel with her husband. Turner has a Masters of Education from Troy State University and a Bachelors of Science from Bowling Green State University. She currently oversees the day-to-day operations of The Augustine Preparatory Academy of Atlanta (TAPAA) which was formed from Cathedral Academy (est. 1984).
