The purpose of this AMHS SGA sponsored event  is to promote sustainability and environmental beautification, provide each guest with an enjoyable experience, and make our community a better place for people, animals and the environment as a whole.

Parent-Teacher Conference Scheduling is Now Open
Registration is now open for Parent-Teacher Conference Night on Thursday, May 1st. Click on the link below to go to the scheduling website. To begin the process, select one or more of the teachers you would like to meet with, then click "continue". Once you register, you will be sent an e-mail with a link to access the appointment times. Appointments are available on a first-come/first-served basis. If all appointments are filled, please e-mail the teacher directly to arrange another day and time. Please do not sign up for more than one conference in the same time slot. Registration will close on Wednesday, April 30th. See you on May 1st!

Electronics Recycling Day
On Saturday, April 26th from 10am to 2pm we are having an electronics recycling day at AMHS. All staff, students, parents and local community members are encouraged to bring your old computers, phones, etc. to Arabia on April 26th so they can be recycled. This is great way to save our Natural Resources and space in our landfills. More details will be provide about electronics recycling during earth week from 4/21- 4/26/14. Please see Ms. Wesley if you would like volunteer.

 
Shaquille O'Neal Visits Arabia Mountain
Retired NBA Basketball star Shaquille O'Neal visited Arabia Mountain High School on Thursday, April 3rd to help teach students about the dangers of drunk and distracted driving.  Shaq spoke to students in the school's auditorium about highway safety and the legal implications of vehicular homicide.  His visit capped off a week of teen safety initiatives leading up to prom night including a Ghost Out Program which is a joint DeKalb County public safety initiative to help teens realize the importance of making good choices when behind the wheel.

AMHS Named AP Honor School
Arabia Mountain High School has been included on State Superintendent John Barge's list of AP Honor Schools!  Specifically, Arabia Mountain has been named an AP Stem School which means we have students testing in at least two AP math courses and two AP science courses. Congratulations to the entire faculty, staff, and students for maintaining an environment where students are challenged to do their very best! 
AMHS in the News!
Arabia Mountain High School was mentioned favorably in two recent articles regarding high school graduation rates across the state.  The articles appeared in the Metro Section of the  Atlanta Journal-Constitution on December 12th & 15th.

LEAF Internship Information
 
LEAF is a 4-week paid summer internship program, sponsored by the Nature Conservancy, which focuses on conservation and environmental projects.  Participating students live and work in a variety of natural areas around the United States.  Last summer, 22 Arabia Mountain High School students participated in this program.  Click here to access an article about their activities.
